meet the designer
My name is Matilde Pacheco and I am a Product Designer, born in Oporto in 1985 and living in Lisbon for 20 years now.
After several years as Chief Financial Officer of a Law Firm in Lisbon, I decided to leave the financial career to pursuit not only a long term passion, but an intrinsic need for aesthetics and visual balance, that gained body in Graphic and Visual Design.
Given my academic degree in Corporate Communication and driven by the passion to understand each user experience, their motivations and behaviours, I specialized in human-centric digital solutions, respecting the Design Thinking approach for the development of the appropriate Interface as a solution for each problem, never neglecting the most possible elegant design.
My working experience in management and finances, such as my “intellectually curious” nature, gave me the skills not only to analyze the data collected in UX Research, treat it with respect and discipline, relate variables and infer important insights, but also to be rigorous when designing, respecting and developing the Design System, and never neglecting Pixel Perfect Alignment – always with a watchful eye on that “rebellious pixel”.

I am an F1 fan and let me tell you the secret to get on my nerves: saying that Ayrton Senna was not the best pilot of all times.
There is something about the physics and the trajectories that makes me love this sport, like a game between G-force and Geometry that uses movement to paint a blank canvas, and this abstract “game of design” is what captivates me in dance too – I have a real passion for my contemporary dance classes, because it’s a way to express myself and to design using my body movements.
I love literature and the way it enhances my imagination to build that world in my head. It stimulates my curiosity and makes me study those historic contexts, explore how the society worked and to make the relation between the arts and their time period.
Photography is the way I like to capture the beauty of the world and also of some particular moments of people, mainly focusing on something very specific, giving it relevance, such as we use contrast in design.
